Community Governor

This is a voluntary position involving half-termly meetings.

We invite applications for the role of Governor to join our cohesive and supportive team. We are specifically seeking an individual with professional experience, ideally in finance or education, gained across various sectors. Our diverse group of governors share a deep passion for the transformative impact of education on young lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the school leadership team.

  • Oversee the strategic direction and overall performance of our school.

We are particularly interest in the individuals that have quality of education knowledge and interest and finance.

Being a governor requires several key qualities:

  • Child-Centric Commitment: A genuine dedication to the welfare and academic achievement of the children.

  • Positive Contribution: A desire to actively contribute to the school community.

  • Practical Judgment: Common sense and practical decision-making.

  • Time Commitment: A willingness to invest time in the role.

If you have the commitment, vision, and desire to contribute to our educational community, we encourage you to apply. Your dedication will help shape the future of our students.

Governors play a crucial role in our school. Many of their functions are either statutory or governed by legal frameworks. To effectively fulfill their strategic responsibilities, governors must think strategically, challenge, monitor, and provide support. We offer a comprehensive induction, training and support package and this is a great opportunity for professional development at board level.

Stanford Le Hope is a friendly, inclusive two form entry primary school set on lovely grounds. We have high expectations of our children, in their work and in their behaviour. Simply put, we expect children to work to their best of their ability, to show kindness to those around them and to take responsibility for the care of their environment.

Our school vision is for every child to become a successful, independent and resilient lifelong learner and a responsible member of the community, prepared for an ever-changing world. We aim to be an inclusive school, where all are valued within an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust and we strive to make each child’s time with us, purposeful, challenging, and enjoyable

Our Trust vision is for a global community of values-driven individuals who, together, flourish. We strive to provide our pupils with a global perspective and empower them to see their place as active citizens in a democratic society.
