It is an exciting time to join the team at St Clere’s Secondary School! As a result of the expansion of St Clere’s sixth form we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Year 12 to join us in September 2024. We would also consider early start dates to help prepare for increasing student numbers. As Head of Year 12, the successful candidate will provide pastoral care combined with academic support to enable students to achieve their potential. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and will join a highly motivated team of superbly collaborative teachers committed to a creative and stimulating approach to teaching and learning, and to instilling a passion in our students. The successful candidate will hold QTS.

The opening of our brand new sixth form at St Clere’s School in 2023 was a very exciting opportunity for new staff, and young people in the local area. We are incredibly lucky to have highly skilled and collaborative teachers who have experience in teaching post 16 at St Clere’s and we welcome the opportunity for new members of staff to join our pre-existing team. As the sixth form expands and we welcome a second cohort of students in 2024, we are looking for people to join us who are equally excited about the journey we are on.

The successful candidate should be able to deliver one of the following subjects:

  • Science
  • Law/Criminology
  • Computing
  • Business Studies

Person Specification Requirements



  • Graduate
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • English and Maths GCSE
  • Evidence of continuing approved professional development


  • Further or higher Degree



  • Experience across the Secondary School age range, including KS5
  • Proven record of successful classroom teaching


  • Experience in Secondary School

Professional Competence – Excellent Teaching Practitioner


  • Ability to use ICT and understand computer software packages
  • Ability to motivate students at all levels
  • A thorough understanding of the requirements of the curriculum and the range of teaching and learning strategies necessary to motivate pupils to achieve their potential


  • High-level ICT expertise
  • Innovative, imaginative and flexible classroom style which pushes the boundaries
  • Ability to teach in a second area
