Thames Park Secondary School, part of Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our growing English department. We are seeking an English teacher to enhance our student’s knowledge of English and make a positive impact on our learners, with an available TLR 2A for the right candidate. We are seeking new staff to join our Thames Park Family due to increasing student numbers. We want inspiring and aspirational teachers to support the growth of the school on our exciting journey.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach English across the Key Stages and be creative, innovative and committed to raising standards. They will have excellent subject knowledge and will be joining a highly motivated team of superbly collaborative teachers committed to our ACE framework and approach to teaching and learning, which recognises the importance of Adaption, Creativity and Engagement in all lessons. Your passion for English will enhance a curriculum which is progressive and through our unique digital learning, supports the progress of our students. We are actively seeking a teacher with ambition. As Thames Park is a growing school, we would welcome a conversation about future career development opportunities and responsibilities.

The ideal candidate would be someone with the talent to inspire their students whilst having a passion for English and understanding the impact your teaching could have on our students, to make learning an enjoyable and inspiring experience. We require someone that has a great understanding of the curriculum and how they can support student development across the age and ability ranges.

Thames Park Secondary School opened in September 2020 and we moved into our £25 Million state of the art facilities in 2022. Thames Park Secondary School aims to provide an outstanding education for all its students. We have a strong focus on digital education running throughout our curriculum as each of our student has access to their own Chrome book to enhance their learning experience. We are passionate about making our learning both exciting and memorable through our ACE framework for teaching and learning.

The report states that "The positive ethos at the school is valued and pupils contribute towards this in the way they behave and the way in which they take on positions of leadership", at Thames Park, students "capably take responsibility to lead". The report goes on to describe how Thames Park has "a positive learning atmosphere" and how "pupils conduct themselves maturely". The report also states that "Staff enable pupils to consider and discuss the personal issues faced in adult life”.

Person Specification Requirements



  • Graduate
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • English and Maths GCSE
  • Evidence of continuing approved professional development


  • Further or higher Degree



  • Experience across the Secondary School age range
  • Proven record of successful classroom teaching


  • Experience in Secondary School

  • Ability to use ICT and understand computer software packages
  • Ability to motivate students at all levels
  • A thorough understanding of the requirements of the curriculum and the range of teaching and learning strategies necessary to motivate pupils to achieve their potential
  • An understanding of what the role of Subject Leader entails and a broader awareness of the importance of a Middle Leader in school
  • The ability and personal qualities to motivate staff and pupils
  • Understanding of all current performance data for secondary schools
  • The ability to monitor, evaluate and review the curriculum


  • High-level ICT expertise
  • Innovative, imaginative and flexible classroom style which pushes the boundaries
  • Ability to teach in a second area
