Thames Park Secondary School, part of Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our growing Technology department. We are seeking a Technology teacher to enhance our students’ knowledge of Technology and make a positive impact on our learners. We are seeking new staff to join our Thames Park Family due to increasing student numbers. We want inspiring and aspirational teachers to support the growth of the school on our exciting journey.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach Technology across the Key Stages and be creative, innovative and committed to raising standards. They will have excellent subject knowledge and will be joining a highly motivated team of superbly collaborative teachers committed to our ACE framework and approach to teaching and learning, which recognises the importance of Adaption, Creativity and Engagement in all lessons. Your passion for Technology will enhance a curriculum which is progressive and through our unique digital learning, supports the progress of our students. We are actively seeking a teacher with ambition. As Thames Park is a growing school, we would welcome a conversation about future career development opportunities and responsibilities.

The ideal candidate would be someone with the talent to inspire their students whilst having a passion for Technology and understanding the impact your teaching could have on our students, to make learning an enjoyable and inspiring experience. We require someone that has a great understanding of the curriculum and how they can support student development across the age and ability ranges.

Thames Park Secondary School opened in September 2020 and we moved into our £25 Million state of the art facilities in 2022. Thames Park Secondary School aims to provide an outstanding education for all its students. We have a strong focus on digital education running throughout our curriculum as each of our student has access to their own Chrome book to enhance their learning experience. We are passionate about making our learning both exciting and memorable through our ACE framework for teaching and learning.

Our school was judged to be “good” in all areas by Ofsted in January 2023. The report states that "Pupils are proud of their school" and "In lessons, they show commitment to learning and work hard". The report states that "The positive ethos at the school is valued and pupils contribute towards this in the way they behave and the way in which they take on positions of leadership", at Thames Park, students "capably take responsibility to lead". The report goes on to describe how Thames Park has "a positive learning atmosphere" and how "pupils conduct themselves maturely". The report also states that "Staff enable pupils to consider and discuss the personal issues faced in adult life”.

Person Specification Requirements

Essential​

  • Has Qualified Teacher Status​
  • A degree in Technology or equivalent
  • Evidence of a commitment to own professional development​
  • A keen interest in developing the teaching of Technology
  • Evidence of high achievement in teaching across the Key Stages​
  • The development of schemes of work across the Key Stages​
  • Working effectively as a Form Tutor​
  • Effective use of Assessment for Learning to engage pupils as partners in their learning​
  • Use of assessment and attainment information to improve practice and raise standards​
  • Use of strategies to promote good pupil relationships and high attainment in an​ inclusive environment
  • Vision for teaching of Technology
  • Secure knowledge of Technology at Key Stage 3/ 4​
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills​
  • Competent user of ICT​
  • Ability to plan and resource effective interventions to meet curricular objectives​
  • Active participation in whole school developments​
  • To lead extra-curricular activities/educational visits/out of hours learning​
  • Innovative approach towards curriculum development and establishing partnerships​ with other schools and the wider community​
  • Passion for teaching.​

  • Has a Master’s Degree (Desirable)​
